Wayne Stinnette

Vice President

After earning a BA in psychology from Lynchburg College in 1970 and an MS in psychology from the University of Georgia in 1972, Wayne Stinnette entered Charlottesville’s custom construction industry in 1973 when he had the opportunity to learn the trade from veteran carpenters. He worked with Abrahamse & Company in the 1970s, going on to form his own company, serving as president, designer, and general manager of a firm building quality custom homes in the prestigious Ednam development.

Though he studied psychology in school, he has chosen a career in construction. “I like seeing something concrete at the end of the day,” he explains. “My best jobs have involved working with clients to build to their personal requirements and becoming their friend in the process.” That Wayne believes in building lasting relationships with clients is evident. He is currently involved in a chapel addition for Our Lady of Angels Monastery. The company’s partnership with the monastery began in the 1980’s and this is the 4th phase of construction Wayne has managed for them. Wayne is a versatile manager and a real craftsman in his own right. Besides the Monastery which is featured on the company website, Wayne has managed those projects entitled Historic Renovation, New Crozet Residence, Free Union Residence, and Cadence Addition.

Wayne has a longstanding commitment to ecological conservation and energy-efficient building. In following his beliefs, Wayne just completed his own grid neutral retirement home in Free Union (not that he has immediate plans to retire). Wayne and his wife, Mary, have four children and two grandchildren. For relaxation he enjoys building furniture and sailboats, whitewater canoeing and sailing, and restoring and riding classic BMW motorcycles.
