Ted
Marrs, Project Manager, joined Abrahamse and Company Builders in 1995 when his
family moved permanently to their farm in central Virginia. Prior to his move
to Virginia, Ted worked in the Washington, DC area for 13 years. He has worked
on both commercial and residential projects in the DC and Charlottesville areas.
His favorite commercial projects were the Joint Chief of Staff offices at the
Pentagon, corporate offices for Anheuser-Busch, the Paul Mellon office suites,
security upgrades at SWIFT in Culpeper, Virginia and Our Lady of Peace in Charlottesville.
Ted’s
real love is residential projects. He has completed a historical restoration
of Sunnyside Farm in Upperville Virginia, and a custom residence for the Tanaka’s
in Georgetown. Most recently, he has completed a unique contemporary residence
designed by the firm of Voorsanger Associates in New York.
Ted has an interest in sustainable and energy-efficient
alternative architecture
and a desire
to build shelter that will meet the challenges of the future.
What Ted loves best about Abrahamse and Company Builders is the diversity
of projects and people. “We don’t do the same thing all of the
time and the people at Abrahamse are open-minded and willing to explore new
ideas; you don’t get that everywhere”. The uniqueness of the organization
fits well with Ted’s background and interests.
In Ted’s
spare time, you can find him on his farm with his wife, Caroline and two sons,
Franklin and Taylor Lee. He also enjoys running, hunting and fishing.
